Let’s be clear: there is no such thing as “no-cry” sleep coaching. Methods that claim to be “no cry” just mean that before your baby has a chance to cry, you intervene, which may work for some families, but it can be a frustratingly long process. That being said, the gentle sleep coaching methods presented in Gentle Baby Solutions are as close to no-cry as you can get while still gently sleep coaching. Because your baby is not quite 6 months old (soon!), we’ve chosen methods that allow a slower start to sleep training. If you’ve been putting the sleep shaping tips into practice as you’ve gone through the course, you’re already ahead of the game. Know that if your baby tends to cry regardless of being in your arms or not, then you should probably prepare for some crying. Sleep Overview

> 4 Month Overview Sleep needs range from 13.1 to 16 hours of combined daytime and nighttime sleep. Average night sleep: 9.5-10.5 hours (usually with 1-3 feeds) Average day sleep: 4-5 hours over 3-5 naps Average wakeful window: 1.5-2 hours after a restorative sleep Sleep cycles change, making it easier to wake up during sleep stage transitions.
